Murfreesboro, TN, — The Special Kids Race announced that the 6th annual event raised $215,000 to help children with special needs served by Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center.
Over 3,000 runners and walkers participated in the 15K, 5K and 1 Mile distances on Saturday, April 8, at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic (MMC) in Murfreesboro. The annual event, presented by Murfreesboro Medical Clinic & Surgicenter, had expenses covered for the 6th consecutive year by its sponsors, allowing every dollar from registration to go towards providing therapy and nursing services at Special Kids.
The 6th annual Special Kids Race was presented by its founding sponsor Murfreesboro Medical Clinic & Surgicenter with Platinum sponsors Max Shred and Backer-Springfield. Gold sponsors included Smoothie King, Newk’s Eatery, New Vision Baptist Church, Ole South, Stewart’s Special Events, Tiffany Lane and Walker & Dunlop. Special Kids is a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs. The Murfreesboro-based ministry started with one child in 1998 and has grown to serve over 3,000 children from 18 counties in middle Tennessee.
