MURFREESBORO – Middle Tennessee place-kicker Crews Holt has been named the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Holt, a sophomore from nearby Brentwood, Tenn., hit a career-best and school record tying five field goals in Friday’s win over WKU. The five treys also went down as the second most ever registered in a Conference USA game.
Holt, who hit a career long 42 yarder, scored 17 total points to also match the school record for points scored by a kicker in a single game.
Overall, this was the 76th conference player of the week winner under Head Coach Rick Stockstill with 27 coming from C-USA and 49 from the Sun Belt. A total of 25 have been on offense, 29 on defense and 22 on special teams.
